Perfcycle MCP Server

Connect your tools to Claude Cowork. Add Perfcycle. Put your project updates and performance reviews on autopilot.

Claude gets full access to create, refine, and manage your reviews, project updates, peer feedback, templates, organizational context, and career highlights — 22 tools that turn your connected services into career documentation.

How It Works

Connect — Add the Perfcycle MCP server to Claude Cowork alongside your other connectors (Slack, Gmail, Notion, Calendar). Claude now has access to both your work tools and your Perfcycle career data. A single setup command surveys your ecosystem, calibrates what matters for your role and level, and configures scheduled tasks — weekly updates, quarterly review prep, stakeholder briefs — tailored to your cadence.

Automate — Claude gathers raw context from your connected tools, but Perfcycle does the heavy lifting: extracting quantifiable impact from routine work, mapping accomplishments to company values and competency frameworks, surfacing metrics leadership cares about, and structuring everything into formats that move careers. Clarifying questions push deeper — Claude researches gaps across your tools, then refines until the output is specific, evidence-backed, and compelling.

Accumulate — Every project update feeds into your next review. Career highlights are extracted automatically. When review season comes, your review practically writes itself from months of documented work — specific metrics, concrete examples, aligned to company values.

How Perfcycle gets more out of Claude

Pushes Claude deeper. Perfcycle auto-generates clarifying questions that probe each draft for unsourced claims, missing specifics, and content from your input the model omitted. Aggregate claims decompose during refinement — "drove $3M in impact" becomes "$1.5M from contract renegotiation + $1.2M from orchestration + $300K from BPO consolidation." Every number traceable. Every claim defensible.

Compounds across your Cowork routines. Perfcycle plugs into the scheduled tasks you already have without disrupting them. Project updates flow into reviews. Career highlights extract automatically. Templates evolve with your work. No manual tracking, no end-of-year scramble — the documentation has been building all year.

Learns your company once. Save your operating principles, career ladder, management framework, and review template via the setup workflow — once. Every future review inherits them automatically. Eligibility rules embedded in your template apply without prompting: mid-quarter exclusions, level-specific criteria, manager-vs-IC perspectives all handled. You never re-explain your company to Claude.

Build a complete performance tracking system with one command

After connecting, run the one-time setup so Claude understands your role, finds your company's review framework, and configures recurring documentation. Just say:

Set up Perfcycle

Claude will run a 6-phase setup that takes ~15-20 minutes:

  1. Discovery — surveys your connected services (Slack, Notion, Gmail, calendar, etc.) and existing Perfcycle data
  2. Organizational context — searches your wikis and docs for your company's review template, career ladder, operating principles, and saves them so they apply to every future review automatically
  3. Calibration — defines what's worth capturing vs. noise based on your role and seniority
  4. Recurring capture — proposes scheduled task prompts (weekly updates, pre-review prep) tailored to your cadence — you approve each before scheduling in Cowork
  5. Templates — extracts reusable templates from your best existing updates
  6. Verify — runs one full update cycle as a test before going live

Already set up? Refresh instead.

If you've already run setup and want to integrate new connectors, updated company docs, or recently-changed templates, say:

Refresh Perfcycle

A surgical 7-step audit that preserves what's working — inventories current setup, detects new connectors, refreshes any updated organizational documents, reviews templates, integrates new project types, audits scheduled tasks, and confirms changes. No re-asking what you've already answered.

Examples

Example 1: "Set up Perfcycle"

What happens: Claude calls start_perfcycle_setup, which returns a 6-phase workflow. Claude executes it in sequence — surveys connected tools and existing Perfcycle data, finds your company's review framework in Notion/wikis and saves it for automatic injection into future reviews, calibrates what's worth capturing for your role, proposes scheduled task prompts you can paste into Cowork, extracts templates from your best past work, and runs a verification cycle. One conversation, full autopilot.

Example 2: "Write my Q2 performance review"

What happens: Claude gathers your project updates from Q2, searches Slack for announcements and shoutouts, pulls meeting transcripts, checks your company wiki for the review rubric. It generates a draft, identifies 5 gaps in the evidence, researches answers across your tools, and refines until the review is specific, metrics-backed, and aligned to company values. Career highlights are auto-extracted.

Example 3: "Write a peer review for Sarah — she's on my team and led the platform migration"

What happens: Claude searches for shared project context, Slack conversations, and retrospective notes. It asks about your working relationship and specific observations, then generates a balanced review calibrated to the peer relationship — strengths with evidence, growth areas with actionable suggestions. You refine with feedback until it's right.

Example 4: "Draft a stakeholder update on the infrastructure project for my VP"

What happens: Claude pulls recent project data from your connected tools, checks your career highlights for relevant metrics, and generates an executive brief focused on outcomes and decisions — not activities. The update is saved to your Perfcycle dashboard and feeds into your next performance review.

Example 5: Scheduled — "Every Friday at 4pm, write my weekly update"

What happens: Each Friday, Claude automatically gathers your week's Slack messages, meetings, and completed work, checks for an existing update (so it doesn't create duplicates), and generates a polished update using your saved template. It shows up in your dashboard. Over time, these updates become the raw material for your next review.

Troubleshooting

Connection or auth issue

If Claude can't connect to Perfcycle or says it lost access mid-session, disconnect and reconnect the Perfcycle connector from claude.ai → Settings → Connectors. Tokens can expire on long sessions; reconnecting issues a fresh one. Make sure you're signed into the right Perfcycle account at perfcycle.ai in another tab before reconnecting.

Generation takes a long time

Performance reviews and refined drafts use deeper AI processing — typically 60-120 seconds, sometimes up to 3 minutes for complex reviews. Claude polls in the background and will return the result when it's ready. If nothing has changed after 3 minutes, asking Claude to try again usually resolves it.

You've hit a plan limit

Free accounts can create up to 3 project updates per month and cannot create performance reviews or peer reviews. Upgrade to Pro for unlimited content.

Removing content

Ask Claude to delete a specific review or update — the connector handles it.

Revoking access or deleting your account

To revoke Perfcycle's MCP access or delete your account and all its data, sign into perfcycle.ai/settings — both options live there.
